A rather easy to get some targeted traffic to your blog.

So you blog in a certain field. And whichever your blog's theme might be there are others, better known than you, blogging about pretty much the same thing. First of all you need to do some research. Find blogs from your field with a decent number of subscribers and mark them down.

This method can be automated or just done manually. This is how you should do:

The White-Hat Way:
  • Write your post but do not publish it. Keep it and keep an 'aggresive' hawk-eye on the RSS feeds of the other bloggers.
  • Wait for their new posts, get about 5 of the most promising and copy their urls and titles. You could also just search for popular posts with few comments.
  • In the footer of your post add something like:
Other posts worth reading (today /about this subject) are : BloggerX from XBlog.com about PostTitleX (post title is a link to the post), BloggerY from YBlog.com about PostTitleY (post title is a link to the post) …
  • The idea is to make it fast and be the first to Pingback their blogs. This way you will appear as the first commenter and believe or not … first comments get some traffic.
  • By linking about 5 blogs you will appear in the top comments on 5 blogs and if you picked them well … their readers will also come your way and read your posts.
  • It is up to you to keep them!

Warning: Pingback is usually moderated. And most bloggers check pages out before enabling them. So this method should be used on legit sites with rather similar themes.

The black-hat way:

The above applies here too but … it's automated. Scripts look for new posts and gather them and make a new post just saying something like: Posts worth reading today are … (as above) and the big ads on the page. The whole process should be automated and the traffic should be decent if the blogs picked are good.

Pingback rejection rate will also be higher but in the blackhat realm … it's all about quantity rather than quality :)

Watiting for any feedback with your results!
